Description
Founded in 1924 in Negrar, Veneto, the Quintarelli estate became a beacon of traditional winemaking under the legendary Giuseppe “Bepi” Quintarelli, whose meticulous methods and soulful touch elevated Amarone to poetic heights. Today, the family continues his legacy with reverence, crafting wines that speak of patience, place, and purity.
The 2013 vintage, shaped by a cool summer and challenging autumn rains, demanded precision and restraint. Grapes—primarily Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Croatina—were air-dried via the appassimento method, losing up to 40% of their weight before fermentation. Aged for seven years in Slavonian oak, the wine emerges with profound complexity: aromas of black cherry, cocoa, vanilla, and dried herbs, layered over a palate of balsamic depth, silky tannins, and a finish that lingers like memory.
With 16.5–17% ABV, it’s powerful yet poised, a contemplative wine that rewards slow drinking and long cellaring—best enjoyed from 2025 onward, with potential to age gracefully past 2045
